For The 90th Year
Every year more than 300,000 people pass through the gates at the Clay County Fair. This year was no exception with 319,307 fair goers. 2007 marked the 90th Anniversary of the fair. If you would like more fair information, click here.
For the past 18 years, Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District Commissioners have been involved with the fair and look forward to it. Their booth was originally located in the Agriculture Building on the 2nd floor. Their booths have consisted of windbreak models, runoff erosion models, poster contest entries, soil samples, and much more.
2004 brought changes to our location. We are now located at the Ag Learning Center, located beside the 4H buildings on the west side of the fairgrounds. We work very closely with the DNR and ISU Extension office.
Our theme this year was Windbreaks and District sponsored activites such as the Conservation Poster Contest, District scholarships, the Sixth Grade Outdoor Classroom, and the Strip No-Till Test Plot.
