Dean Gronemeyer, District Conservationist, has been with NRCS for 20 years. He began his career in 1987. He spent three years in Orange City, Iowa before moving to Spencer. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, spending time with his wife Amy and son Jacob, and  the GREAT OUTDOORS.

Ann Byers, Soil Conservationist, has been with NRCS for almost six years. She came to Spencer in 2006 after spending time in Ida Grove, Iowa, and Albert Lea and Worthington, Minnesota. She lives on the family farm near Hartley and enjoys hunting and fishing with her lab Scout. She is looking forward to acquainting herself with Clay County and assisting customers with their questions and concerns.

Deanna Grange, Soil Conservation Technician, has been with NRCS for 18 years. Dee has lived in the Spencer area all of her life and has been married 37 years. She has 2 children, and 4 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, golfing and spending time with her family. Dee's specializes in waterways and windbreaks and she looks forward to working with you.

 Al Vogel, District Employee, has been in the Spencer office on a part time basis since 1992 and has been a district employee since 1999. Al has been married for 38 years, has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Al enjoys having a positive effect on nature.

Arlis Bahnsen, State Secretary, transferred to Clay County in 2005 after 16 years as secretary in Ida County. She has been married 39 years, and has 4 children and 11 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family,  walking, reading and Lake Okoboji. She is looking forward to working with landowners in Clay County.
