Clay County Soil and Water works with many different non-profit organizations and federal agencies on a daily basis. These partners help local landowners with everything from cost-share programs to CRP to conservation plans. Following is a list of groups that the District works with and an explanation of Clay SWCD's relationship with that organization.
USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS): This agency has employees in every Service Center. Dean Gronemeyer, District Conservationist, Ann Byers, Soil Conservationist, and Dee Grange, Soil Technician are all NRCS employees in Spencer. The NRCS is responsible for many of the big programs the the Service Center offers, including: WRP, EQIP, GRP and WHIP. For more information, please go to the USDA Programs page.

Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship-Division of Soil Conservation (IDALS-DSC): This agency has employees in every Service Center and provides both staff and program dollars to the conservation effort. Arlis Bahnsen, State Secretary is employed by the DSC. The DSC is responsible for the administration of a number of state programs for the protection and management of soil, water and mineral resources. For more information on those programs, go to the State Programs page. Al Vogel is employed by the District to provide technical assistance to customers.

United States Department of Agriculture-Farm Service Agency: This agency has employees in every Service Center. Steve Waller, County Executive Director, Nelda Wolthuis, Kathy Henely, Nancy Heideman, Kathy Geisinger, Rosann Hodgin, and Mary Lyster are all FSA employees. The FSA is responsible for many programs including: CRP, SIP, ECP, FWP, Pasture Enhancement and Wetland Restoration.
