Colton Meyer, son of  Todd & Tracy Meyer, is currently majoring in Environmental Science at Iowa State University. He plans to pursue a career in a soil and water conservation field after graduation.

Lee Christensen, daughter of Jim & Julie Christensen, is  majoring in Animal Science at Iowa State University. She is currently looking into animal science careers that specifically include breeding and genetics.

Ryan Goeken, son of John & Connie Goeken, is majoring in Biology at Luther College in Decorah. His interest includes how humans are called to sustain and simultaneously reap from the Earth we live on.

Every year the commissioners deliver scholarship applications to high schools around the area. Our SWCD board is committed to education and being able to help students who are interested in natural resources and agriculture. If you are in your second year or higher in college, and are majoring in Agronomy, Agriculture or something related to Natural Resources or Conservation, you may be our next scholarship winner. The scholarship awarded will be $500.00 and will be paid directly to the recipient.

Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of extracurricular basis, community activities, and career goals.

Since 1992, Clay SWCD has awarded 49 scholarships totalling more than $24,500.
