NRCS's natural resources conservation programs help people reduce soil erosion, enhance water supplies, improve water quality, increase wildlife habitat, and reduce damages caused by floods and other natural disasters through  offering programs for all landowners/producers.

CWI-CLEAN WATER INDIANA COST SHARE GRANT 

The Clay and Vigo County SWCD staff worked together to submit for this CWI grant. Being awarded this grant gives us the opportunity to help with the struggle of sedimentation and nutrients entering into the Otter Creek.  By offering the above mentioned best management programs we can help reduce erosion and sedimentation in the Otter Creek Watershed., which will help the Otter Creek off of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management 303d list (impaired water body) If you own  a small farm or a large farm, give us a call so we can verify what part of the watershed your farm is in and to get the application and information to you or you can  can download application below and bring into office.
